There is no denying that climate change plagues all of us as a people, especially as Texans rebuild from Hurricane Harvey. Climate change has increased the intensity and frequency of storms like Harvey; has resulted in crop failure; melting of the permafrost and forest fires like we’ve never seen before. The good news is we know how to slow it down, even stop it.
Texas needs to diversify its energy investment. We are currently leading the nation in wind energy – our topography and independent electric grid allows us to do so. We need to work hand in hand with our allies in the oil and gas industry to use their infrastructure to continue the development of wind energy.
